I second that. The default website configuration is also totally insecure. I didn't notice the apache config had been over-wrttien last upgrade until Google started putting up directory listings of private files from my web server.[/quote]

IIIIIh!
How do I tighten up the Apache server config to prevent Google indexing my server??

That simply tell searchs robots how to index your website. It does NOT secure your directory listings or apache server in anyway.

I used some of the tips on this website to sercure my apache server a little better: http://www.petefreitag.com/item/505.cfm

sorry
i thought he wanted his files to be accessible from the internet,
but did not want google to find them.

if you don't want the files to be accessed from the internet,
turn off the WAN access from the network menu in the admin pages.
or use security for example .htaccess to shield directories.
see http://www.apache.org
