Does anyone have Java successfully installed after this latest update? Just wondering as I'm about to upgrade my own Bubba 2. Would like to try and install linux version of CrashPlan which depends on Java version 1.6+ - it's probably impossible based on their machine requirements, but I'm going to give it a go. http://www.crashplan.com/consumer/download.html?os=Linux

I hate to say this, but I can just confirm that I am nearing the end of my patience to wait for this so long promised update. I know there have been internal problems at Excito that caused a delay, but considering everything, it is taking a really long time to release this update. If I would have had the spare time, I would long have ditched my Bubba 2 and built my own HTPC/home server. Understanding only gets us this far...

Maybe it can handle other operating systems.

I think it would be nice to boot the bubba operating system from a usb like freenas.

I realized i have been waiting 1,5 years for the exito team to update the drivers of my bubba 2 so i can stream movies over wifi. just saw a movie and i had to retart it 3 times due to the bad wifi connection/drivers.

Maybe we should not complain too much, but i think i will buy synology etc the next time, although bubbas are nice with firewalls and wifi.
Wonder if I can install a bubba3 motherboard if i change the backplate too.

Is it possible to buy bubba3 motherboards?

I have also problems with wifi but since I had hope for a fix I still use it.
Have to reconsider, maybe I just have to ditch the wifi on bubba and use it as a server.

Hi allI just want to say that we are working on the B2 release and nothing else right now. We have been forced to focus on other stuff for a while for reasons I cannot share here, but now we are back on track. We have a new 2.4 release candidate available now with a few known issues (currently three known bugs remaining) and Carl is working on them. After this and a final test we will release the new installer.

I apologise for the trouble this delay has been causing. I will get back with more information as soon as I have it.

I assume it will be available in the repositories for existing 2.4 RC users, rather than by install image only?

Any progress?
Kind of tired waiting out in the cold for updated fuctionality on the B2.
Started to look at other routers with dd-wrt or Tomato.

Yes, we are at release candidate 3 now, final testing failed and we are working on the hopefully last fix before release. Some more technical explanations: The updated kernel (which we need in order to get a good WiFi and other) causes problems with the old B2 platform. Right now RAID does not work and we are working on the fix.

I won't give anymore promises today since I have been dissapointed so many times now but so you know we are working on this with top priority.

Ok, thanks for sharing!
I will hang on the the B2 a while longer and see what you can do for us.
Stable WiFi, parental control, magnetlink fucntionality is what I miss most right now.
Easy setup for a 3G dongle would also be a nice feature.
