Release notes for BUBBA|TWO 1.2.3
This is a minor upgrade of the Bubba|TWO 1.2 release available as an upgrade via Bubba|TWO's admin UI.

How to upgrade
To upgrade a running system, make sure you don't have any activities running such as uploads, downloads, print jobs etc. Then log in as admin in web-ui. Choose "settings" menu entry. Choose "Update" in the sub menu. Press the "Update" button.

Updated features
The 1.2.3 release includes only one upgrade, Logitechs SqueezeCenter which is now called Squeezebox Server to the latest version 7.4.

Short on what's new in version 7.4 of Squeezebox Server
  • Support for Squeezebox Radio and Squeezebox Touch
  • Tweaked software to use less resources.
  • Reworked UI
  • Added integration to the social networks Facebook and Flickr
For more information on Squeezebox Server read here:
http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Release_Notes#7.4_Release_Highlights

Known issues
Squeezebox Server is still called SqueezeCenter in Bubba web-admin.

I'm having trouble getting past the password prompt for the upgrade (apt-get install squeezecenter).

Code: Select all
mysql said: ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user                    ▒
│ 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

However, from root I'm able to log in with:
Code: Select all
# mysql
ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)
# mysql -p
Enter password:
mysql>

any ideas?

I've updated and unfortunately have lost Squeezecenter from my Bubba Two. My Squeezebox says it is not installed and I cannot access it from my PC as proviously ( http://bubba:9000/ ). I've tried updating again but still no joy.

Anyone else with this problem?

It seems that Squeezecenter runs an update of the music database after the install and that it will not start to function until this scan is complete. Note that this is done after the web page says that the update is finished. For me it worked after 2 hour. Probably much sooner but I did watch some tv so I did not test it before then. The logs said that the scan took about 20 minutes.

Can it be you have changed the password in the past? On an upgrade/install as above, you should get an dialog asking you to insert your password. If it doesn't, you can try editing /var/cache/debconf/passwords.dat and change the password (value) for the field Name: squeezecenter/mysql/admin-pass to the one you have changed to.

Yes, sadly that's true, at the moment there is no possible way to know when squeezeboxserver is fully up and running or not, and sadly said software is resource heavy, and thus takes a good while to start.

I have posted this before in the wrong thread so I'm trying again in the right one. After upgrading to 1.2.3 the download doesn't work. If a past a link to the location field and press add the download filed is not updated. I tried copy a torrent file to the torrents directory and they show up in the download filed but the download never starts.

I tried upgrading but I receive "Failures found in package (dpkg) database, unable to continue with upgrade."

Any ideas?
